First Incident: Speeding Claims a Life

The first accident took place near Sector 79, where a 26-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his bike and crashed into a divider. Eyewitnesses reported that the biker was riding at high speed when the accident occurred. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact was severe, and he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

 

A local shopkeeper who witnessed the crash said, "He was riding fast and lost balance. The impact was so strong that the bike was completely damaged."

 

Police officials suspect over-speeding and poor road conditions to be the cause of the accident. The deceased’s family has been informed, and further investigation is underway.

Second Incident: Collision with a Car

The second accident occurred late at night on the Mohali-Kharar highway, where a 32-year-old biker was hit by a speeding car. According to reports, the car driver fled the scene, leaving the injured biker on the road. Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

 

Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run case.

Police Urge Caution Amid Rising Road Accidents

Following these tragic incidents, Mohali police have intensified road safety awareness campaigns and urged bikers to follow traffic rules strictly.

 

"Over-speeding and reckless driving continue to be a major cause of accidents. We urge bikers to wear helmets, follow speed limits, and stay cautious on the roads," said a senior traffic officer.

 

The police have also assured strict action against negligent driving and are urging eyewitnesses to come forward with any information regarding the hit-and-run case.
